Well here is my chicks I hatched Christmas.

This is supposed to be a pure bred Ameracauna from one of the members right here.

I think this one is a boy. His tail feathers are so much longer and showier but I thought you couldn't sex ameracauna's easily?

I don't know if some are rumpless and others are not. I hatched out 10 eggs so I most likely have 4 or 5 boys. I can definately tell my Black Copper Maran boy and my Barnvelder boy, but the Ameracauna's?

I think this is a girl

I bought the eggs from RockinPaints. Was packed well, shipped well, hatched fairly well. I just wish more of the black marans had made it. There were more ameracauna eggs than marans and a few barnvelders. It was my first hatch in a cheap incubator so I feel lucky that 10 survived, I paid for a dozen, she sent 15 I think, One broke when I was cleaning it up a bit, two never developed not sure they were fertile and one was from a fart egg I had to help him hatch he was doing good but got squished in a chicken crowd being smaller. The last one pipped and I didn't help it because it externally pipped and cheeped they say leave them so I did. She never finished pipping.

Overall I feel RockinPaints did really well by me. Of course I don't know anything about telling true ameracauna's from EE's but they look good and should start laying in the next 1-6 weeks.
