I have always enjoyed the simple things.My chickens are just adding to the fun.First timer here,so sitting and watching them is a blast.Last evening ,put them out and sat in the driveway to watch them.[hawks here so I need to be close] They are relaxing to watch.Watching robins and everything else here too.Tree line has rabbits,so something always going on.The pecking order is fun to watch along with the chest bumping!!! Kevin

My fondest memories of when I was a kid in OK was watching a broody with her brood. I was only 6 or so and learned very quickly to leave those babies alone. As a defense I would snatch up rooster and carry the startled bird with me to watch mama hen with me. Kinda hard to sneak up on a broody while toting a frustrated rooster. Lordy, I was a strange kid. And now I'm a strange adult!

That was a great story!

My favorite part of my day is sitting out back with my friends, the hens. Yesterday, they all came up for a snuggle on our swing in the back. I had 5 of them on me at once. Then they settled in for some shut eye and some sun on the comfortable cushion beside me. I thought they might get off when the swing started swinging but they didn't.

They are really sweet creatures. (At times anyway!)

And the buff orps looked so pretty on the red swing cushion, and so cozy too! AWWWWW!

That is the best part of my day. In the evening out back watching my girls roaming around the yard with the bluejays and cardinals and my litttle cat Ivy.

Thanks for the great story I spent some time outside yesterday, watching the babies play and let the big girls out and watched as they dust bath. It was such a simple and nice time.

April of 2010 I lost my brother to a drunk driver.I had always wanted chickens and never got them.My children got them for me as an Easter present and they have been a blessing.I enjoy watching them and taking care of them.They relax me and are beautiful in actions as well as looks.They just relax me.I sit often thru out the day.They helped me thu the hard times.Like old geezer said STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES.The problem is I want to always work on the coop and run and for get to do things in the house.I do have an understanding wife.Thank God for her
