I tried the table with symptoms, but nothing matches..

Symptoms of what was 1 chicken when I first acquired him months ago but had done much better over the time he's been with us, but now other chickens are sounding like the have a chest cold! Here are the symptoms in at least 3:
~mouth breathing
~rattly breathing (rales)
~sneezing, sounds like a trumpet or horn
~NO face or comb/wattle swelling
~NO discharge from nostrils or eyes
~NO white spots on legs or comb/wattles
~eating and drinking well
~lessened egg production from hens d/t daytime hours decreasing I think
~hens that do not have these symptoms are not laying much either and are eating well, there are some droppings I have noticed around to be watery and some others to be diarrhea but brown in color.
All layer feed has the stryke III wormer mixed atm. I just applied some VetRx to symptomatic birds last night and the nesting houses are cleaned every few days, as they roost in them at night too.
We do get some fog in the early mornings, and we have gone through a couple of off and on weeks of heat waves and cooler temps.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a respiratory infection. You could try Tylan, tetracycline, oxytetracycline or something like Baytril. the three shown in bold you can get a feed store, but Baytril you would have to order online. These might work if it's a bacterial infection, but they won't work if it's a viral infection.

Thanks Kathy, I'm at a feed store now trying to decide between Tylan 50 injectable 100ml bottle ( how long does it save once opened?) And a Tetroxy Hcl-280 water soluble powder mix but has vague mixing instructions for my small flock not sure of the ratios and doesn't specify withdrawal time as is not reccomended, although online site I found reccomends 12 day withdrawal!

If the tetroxy looks like the one in the link below the 800mg dose is ~3/4 teaspoons per gallon.

I went with Tylan! I figure, I can separate a few hens at a time while being treated so I can monitor them and toss eggs, or can I feed them back to them? But then after they are done with tx and withdrawl, I can start tx of a few more and continue until the entire flock has been treated, this will also allow me to be able to monitor if any other start to show symptoms!
Roosters don't lay so may not need to separate.
Also, while treating, change out entire enclosure of the straw and put down fresh on ground and in nest houses and boxes again.
Any thing else comes to mind, let me know, I'll also continue with VetRx on them and probiotics/ electrolytes in water!

Ok, Done with taking out all of the old straw from the enclosure, nest houses and boxes! Tomorrow, after we process the Turkey, I will clean out that enclosure, it is just a small 6x6x4 kennel that I used for finishing off as she was free ranged then locked up for the past couple of weeks to monitor for health and feed consumption. Relocate the enclosure, add a little hutch for the 4 or 5 hens that I will be treating so they can lay their eggs in and place some clean straw down for them. I need to also provide some roosts. I am not sure if I should put the Rooster in with them too, or just treat him and let him be? He is sounding worse today and although he is out and about foraging, I noticed him standing with his eyes closed and puffed up a bit. I could just be exaggerating. (Clarification: This is a different rooster than the original at the beginning of the post! The rooster at the beginning of post, he still sounds kind of raspy at times, but not as he had at first when we had acquired him and he is doing great and the 2 hens he came with don't show any signs of respiratory distress thankfully and oddly!) I think this may have occurred from fog and heat/cold dramatically changing back n forth over the weeks! Not to forget, I have some stubborn hens and roos that prefer to roos outside of the coops, weirdos! LOL

I hope this works, wish us strength and luck in kicking this thing in the bud.

I don't intend to criticize you but when it comes to doctoring chickens, an ounce of prevention is usually worth a ton of cure. Therefor the most effective medical device available to professional chicken keepers is a kill stick.

I think that is the one, but it looked different, the package was more silver, and had more white on the sticker lable, but the brand name looks the same. It said not to use on chickens that were used for consumeable egg production.
