I used to love fireworks

I hate this holiday, just an excuse for people to do stupid things. My neighbor is out there shooting some kind of firearm and its got my dog whining and running around. I hate the noise.

I'm thankful to live so far out of town, we'll barely hear them tonight.

DH however has to work, which means he'll be chasing fireworks complaints all night - do you have any idea how hard they are to track down?? - and will come home at 3 AM or later, exhausted.

My poor Cocker spaniel is freaked out...still. Poor guy

He used to not worry about the fireworks in the past but now he is having issues with them.

I have 4 cats and 7 dogs.

But you're not as much fun to tease as Imp is

Have you actually tried one of these? Our beagle/chihuahua mix is terrified of thunder. She won't even let you hold her if she hears it in the distance. She opens the bathroom vanity and hides in there.

All we ever do is sparklers. Everyone has safety goggles on and they have to go to different areas and I use traffic control to keep them from poking each other. The youngest is 21 and the oldest is 35. I can't believe they still like to play with those stupid things.

For actual fireworks we go to the local show. I can't believe what the tent places charge for a stupid little cone that shoots sparks up in the air 5 ft. Of course as kids we used to think those were really cool.

I have an aunt that uses one on the youngest of her SEVEN chihuahuas.
