ChickenDuck is an Easter Egger chicken that we got from Sun Ray Chicks Hatchery. He is a bizarre one too, because he is the standard Bronze Duckwing color of a 'true' Ameraucana, only his legs are yellow instead of slate blue.

But we adore him anyhow! He is our Alpha Roo right now and I tried an experiment today. Right now, my 'big' girls dont leave the coop much because the boys just wanna...you know....so they stay in mostly but the 3 boys and all the little ones come out. Well, today I let them out but kept ChickenDuck in for awhile with the gals so I could watch the other 2 roos. Its the first time I've ever heard Pretty Boy (the "bottom" roo) crow! Until now, he'd been silent and just hung out mostly with the girls. Hopefully, once the little girls are bigger and there are enough to 'go around' between them all, things will settle down and they can all be roos!
