Lizzer, I lied!

The Sultan next door is NOT QUIET.
It's the Sultan next door that makes all of the noise. I thought it was the Leghorn, but just now I went out to shush a very loud, persistent hen that was just going KA KA KA KA KA KA KA KA KAAAAK! for an hour, and it was the Sultan.

Leghorns are the layers of nice big white eggs and they are a small delicate breed.

They are pretty self reliant and the roos are a usually attentive and protective of his ladies.

They do get bumble foot more and they are susceptible to hawks.

Personally I would go with those big 'ol plymouth rocks.

The roos get just a wee bit huge though
