I'm gonna assume you're in Florida as those things are everywhere. I have 5 monitors myself one being a baby savannah. Tegus are the puppies of the lizard world. They can be tamed.

Spot? I know that name goes back a few years but it kind of fits in the Tegus case?

They can make good pets, but you're going to need plenty of space. They don't actually do well being 'free range' in a house like a lot of people keep them, the humidity is wrong and they need more UVB than they'll get doing that. They need a proper enclosure, and letting them loose in the house should be temporary enrichment, not a permanent solution. Or you may be able to keep him in a chicken-pen-style enclosure outside, since your climate is appropriate for him.

Wow, this information I did not know, I was not planning on keeping him in the house, but I did not know it’s not the best idea. I will probably keep him in a large chicken pen I have been planning. I will name him Chubby Cinder F.
