I want the pecking order to go back to how it used to be! Help!

I don’t I just put em back in. The pecking order begins again. Now honestly you need to remove some roosters for 18 hens 2 is more than enough. But I personally would only have 1 if they don’t free range. I have 45 chickens and 3 roosters right now but we allow our chickens to free range for a few hours each evening.

I have one rooster, 19 hens, everybody is happy. No way would I allow anyone to disrupt the harmony of my flock. I want happy hens!

You do have too many roosters. And when you separated them from the hens while at the fair, it is hard to go back.

It is hard to cull birds, but once you remove them, you are going to wonder why you waited. A peaceful flock is a healthier flock and a lot more fun to watch.

Update: we attempted to reintroduce the separated rooster into the flock, and immediately Tim and the mean rooster began fighting, and didn't stop. Needless to say, the mean rooster is back in time out until I find him a home or we cull him.

They don't call it cockfighting for nothing, it is a very natural inclination with chickens. You will be much happier when he is gone. Flocks are forever, but chickens come in to the flock and go.
