As some of you know, I have the one, 4 week old, Khaki Campbell being raised by 2 silkie chickens.

Would anyone be willing to look at the website and give your opinion?
#1, A591208, Black and white, Peepers, no breed listed. (page 6)

#2, A59153, Pooder, Indian runner mix (page 7)

#3, A592255, Puddles, Pekin (bigger than I wanted, page 7)

#4, A593054, White Duck., breed and age not known. It looks like a smaller duck based on where it sits to the fencing. page 8.

so what do you think would be a good duck for KC and chickens?

thanks,
Marlene

they all look pretty good, but i would recommend that you call the shelter and see all of their backstories, and adopt the one that you think needs the most help, all of those ducks look great. If I were you i would go with my heart on this, and again look at their past and see if you think you can give any of them a good home :)

thanks for looking. I have a call into the shelter now. Sometimes they don't know much.

Did you recognize the breed for the black and white one and then the last white one?

the black and white one kind of has a longer neck so i'm seeing some indian runner, but also maybe some magpie or, pekin crossed with a cayuga since i think those make black and white patterns

the white one at the end especially has some flying mallard in it, since its size is smaller, but also some pekin or call duck. you can tell most of these ducks are crossed bred out of their particular breed but they all look totally cute

The ones closest to the age of your duckling would be best. I don't think Puddles is 6 months old unless this is an old pic. but there was 3 that were close to the age of your duckling. Pooder Peppers and Kronk all adorable.
and a Swan aww breaks my heart all these water fowl need forever homes.

so the nice woman just called me from the HSMO. She said Kronk is very much imprinted on people. but he/she is a Pekin. Do you think that is too big for a KC? I also live in the city so I don't want to aggravate my neighbors.

She said the #4 white duck is by it self but they don't know how old, but it is a big duck.

If Kronk is too big, then I guess I will go with the 2 Indian runner mixes, Peepers and Pooder.

do you agree?
