[IMG] I put fertile eggs under my bantams that were both sitting on the same nest. Two just hatched, one for sure yesterday, one either yesterday or today. They are in a nesting box with a short maybe 2 inch lip from the inside of the box to the top edge, then a 3 inch drop to the floor. I don't know if the moms can get them to the food and water set out. They know it is there but I never see them getting the chicks to them.
Should we take the moms off them and set them all on the floor and hope they figure it out? Or should I move their entire nest to the floor, it still has 3 eggs to do that may or may not hatch tomorrow or the next day. I just don't want the chicks dying of dehydration or something.

    Thank you.

They should be fine for 3 days or so. If you take them out of the nest it may cause momma hen to abandon the other eggs in the nest.
