I want to know why I cannot count my chickens before they hatch!!!!!!!

You can count them before they hatch if you want, just "don't put all your eggs in one basket".

Which makes me think, if I'm not supposed to put all my eggs in one basket, how many baskets do I use and how do I carry them all? Am I supposed to make more than one trip from the coop. What if there are only 12 eggs? Do I put 6 in one and 6 in the other or do I put 7 in one and 5 in the other? I'm so confused.
