I am seriously considering moving, far away from where I am now.

I would like to move somewhere that is fairly temperate (none or few negative temps in the winter, none or few 100+ days in the summer). I also don't like a lot of humidity.

I also don't want to live somewhere with a history of large numbers of natural disasters. I can handle thunderstorms, rain, flooding, but I don't want to live somewhere with a lot of tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes...you know, the big ones

Someplace 'small town', with low crime rates, nice people, good schools, decent jobs, and not too far away from 'civilization'. Low-cost housing is also a plus.

Am I just dreaming, or does this place really exist?

Where we live isn't THAT BAD. I mean our house is 15 minutes from walmart, 5 minutes from food lion, family dollar, and mcdonalds. (just got those last year!) It's half an hour from Fort Bragg. It's like an hour from anywhere! The thing I love about NC is you can see the beach and the mountains in the same day

We are in the Sandhills. It gets about 100 on the hottest day, and the coldest night last year was 18 degrees. Not bad at all...

We do get hurricanes, but none bad recently...

LOL australia would be ok LOL, Indiana is good too

No offense, but I grew up in Indiana, and you couldn't pay me enough to live there!! I go there to visit family once in a while, but that's enough Indiana for me.
