My husband keeps saying no more birds til we move....and I have put off ordering more SO many times it's not even fair. I have even CALLED Ideal and said...Ok, I'll have to call you back. Terrible withdrawls. I'm sure you all understand.
Last Nov. I was up to like 120 birds & had to sell them all b/c of moving so I was down to 14! Until today...I went to the feedstore to get dog food I was like 'Oh....you have chicks!?!?' So...I came home w/2 white americauna pullets (I have wanted those SOOO bad!) and 3 more BR's to add to my 'core' flock. I figure 5 is a good # to keep each other warm & comfy & isn't tooooo many to get him *too* upset, and they are all girls, and it is MUCH easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

Shame shame...

When we moved to this house my hubby was apprehensive b/c he thought he would have to do all the brn chores. 6 months later, he has discovered that is not the case. Now I just have to say " I was thinking about getting one of _______, (fill in the blank with animal of the week) and he says ok. So come spring, we'll jsut hafta see what shows up.

I may be bad too soon chick day is the 4th of March at the feedstore and my mom is letting me go "meet other chicken people" but I will mabe bring a few chicks home if the deal I am trying to make to get some older pullets does not go through.

Did you bring your babies home in a brown paper bag? I did. He thought I had chicken feed or something in it when I was taking it to the back to the brooder. I already had chicks in it, so he never knew until way later that I added 5 more!

Always bring a smile to my face. WEll the 7th of March is chick day @ TSC...I think that's Nation Wide, so he's going to have to keep me away from there b/c I have silkie fever BAD, so if they have any silkies there or more americanas then it's just t-r-o-u-b-l-e. LOL
