You don't have to rent a rooster. Most days of the week, there are free roosters on Craigslist. Some of them are extra gorgeous looking. Some of them are even purebreds.

Take a free rooster, quarantine him so you don't bring disease into your flock. Then turn him loose with the hens for a month while you collect eggs.

After that, you put an ad on Craigslist and give him away.

It would be safer, though, to just buy hatching eggs.

Ok I checked the brand it's a "little giant" incubator looks like in pretty good condition but it doesnt have the egg turner or a fan so if I'm ever going to use it i'll need to order those parts. says it'll hold 50-100 eggs or more if they are small eggs.
