I was looking at Home Depot sheds yesterday...

And wow, would they make a nice coop. 10 x 10 or whatever, wood sheds, windows, double doors, just stick some ladder roosts in there and put some nesting boxes against the walls, and it would be comfy and spacious. Add a little venting at the top.

Yeah, yeah, they're between $2000 and $3000, but if I run into the big bucks, that's where I'm headed...

If it wasn't for the price, I would have bought one!

I ended up building an 8x12 shed coop anyway for a fraction of the price.

But I sure would have liked to just pick up one of those pretty sheds and modified it!

Yeah those sheds you both have sound great. the house im using a 14 year old kid made for me. I felt i was helpong him out as much as he was helping me. I didnt have much money and he needed some for camp. its not fancy or best but its ok for now till maybe someday i can afford to upgrade.

They have one at lowes that's an 8x10 (I think) that's only $795! It comes in panels and you have to put it together, but for those of us with a large flock and less than stellar carpentry skills its great

We got an 8x6 from Lowes to put up for our 6 girls.

It was $600. Much more than I wanted to pay for coop, but the best option for us at the moment.
I'll still need to modify it.

I picked up an 8x8 wood shed at Menards for $600 a month or so ago. Came with everything to put it together. Got it done and put together in about 7 hours and im not good at putting things like that together at all. Cheap and bigger than a coop any day of the week. Nice too

I built an 8 X 12 with all treated lumber and a metal roof for around $600

You may need to put a better flooring material down. I have seen them at menards and some have the floor poked thru. They are outside
models and it maybe because customers leave the door open and it gets rain in there. But it is something to think about so it does not
become a problem later. They are nice looking and seems like something you could add on to to make a nice coop.
