I got 2 pullets yesterday. I posted and got a lot of good feedback about Ameraucanas. My daughter wants to show with my mom so it's kind of a family project and they are doing 4h this year.
I got 2 pullets from a breeder in Venus, TX which is only 30 min from me. The place was absolutely amazing. Her chickens were gorgeous, the place was clean, everyone was separated and looked true to their color. I had never seen roosters in real life and OMG they are stunning.
Unfortunately, I wasn't the one picking both (no biggie) because my kiddo wanted one that she said had the cutest face lol.
I was wondering if anyone had close ups of black ameraucanas in terms of combs. Their combs are a lightish color and born Feb of this year, but look pretty immature in my limited opinion.
Here is a close up. The eye is a bit more reddish in real life, but I couldn't capture it at night when they got tucked in. It was kind of a stressful day for them

Here is a further away photo https://imgur.com/EmsxU1A The one with her tail down was just an odd shot bc walking around it's normally positioned different
I was wondering if anyone had any insight into how well they conform and had close up photos of proper combs. I did see a pic with proper eye color which one has better than the other and tail position.
Positives about them: Presumably good stock. All birds were cared for very nicely and there was no mingling of color variations. Black or slate legs with white feet. Not terribly noticeable muffs and beards yet, but I think that will come. very nice coloring with a lot of sheen kind of green pretty in the sun. No wattles at least not visible
Negatives: One has dark brown eyes. Im not sure if the tail is at 40 degrees or higher, comb color looks very pale so far.
Im very fine with criticism because this is our first time attempting, just curious about other photos people have and what things look off. Also it's just a pet project for my daughter so I won't have hurt feelings
