Well I did just the opposite as you. I had chicken eggs and duck eggs and I set them together, instead of setting the ducks first for seven days. I realized what I did, locked down the chickens, and prayed for the ducks.

With me so far?

Then MORE chicken eggs showed up. They could not wait to be set, so I set them as well, and then locked down the ducks!!! Incredibly enough I had a fairly good hatch for all three rounds. Never again.

I just somehow magically win all these auctions and then in about 2-3 days eggs they so up?

I seem to do the opposite. I'll move eggs to the hatcher when they 'should' hatch, then wonder 4-5 days later why they didn't. THEN I'll check to see that they should then (4-5 days after moving them) be moved to the hatcher....I need to stick with quail

For some reason, people view me as a person that needs eggs. So they send them to me. Site unseen, no request made, never said a word. I get PM's asking for my address for a "surprise". That is how I wound up in that boat with only one oar!!!!

Don;t get me wrong. I soooo TOTALLY appreciate it like you wouldn't believe!!! I have some REALLY nices birds from these freebies. I guess I need to stop giving ut my address Thinking I may get a fridge magnet!

I thing we all need to stick to what we know. Problems is I KNOW ducks and chickens and STILL screwed it up.

MY problem is I have entirely too many different species going at the same time. The good thing is that by the last week they are big enough to 'turn' themselves, so as long as I don't drown them by moving them early they still do okay
