My grandfather always detested the taste of poultry. He would choke down the turkey at Thanksgiving and the occasional chicken dinners to please my grandmother, but he really hated any kind of bird meat. They raised chickens too. He would eat eggs fine though. My son who barely knew my grandfather, because he died in the 90's, really hates all kinds of bird meat as well. We have tried quail, duck, turkey, pheasant, grouse, chicken, you name it. He can't stand the taste and he has always been this way. We just work around it at mealtimes by providing something else for him (protein wise) but it is wierd because I havent heard of anyone else who hates poultry/bird that much especially in the same family lol. My son does like eggs though.

About 2 years ago I developed an extreme dislike of milk. A year later at a wine and cheese party I had some cheesees, and ended up in the hospital for a milk allergy I'd developed. It could be an intolerance for the meat protiens, that make it unappitizing.

My Son HATES Tomatoes! (which I would rather eat than an apple or a peach....)

BUT, he loves ketchup ! (which I don't care for particularly........it's ok...just no big deal.)

Go Figure.....???????

yeah 2 of mine hated tomatoes but also loved the ketchup. My dd would prob put ketchup on anything, she put ketchup on ice cream and ate it just to gross out her brothers lol.

It's all about the texture, I hate tomatoes but like ketchup.

My Dad HATES to eat chicken. When he was in college one of his roommates worked for a poultry processing plant, and would bring home chicken every night as his meal contribution. After a year of this, my father hasn't eaten poultry in 40 years now.

I hate poultry. I'll eat it because it my husband requests it. And home raised birds aren't as bad. Most poultry is too dry. I also eat pork. Home grown is so yummy!

I have notced poultry lovers generally eat steak well done and people who like steak meadium or less prefer beef over poultry.

Livinzoo,

I suggest that you cook your chicken the way I used to cook pheasant back in my "huntin' days".

I NEVER "plucked" pheasant...too much bother. I skinned 'em.

THEN, when I cooked them, I would wrap them in BACON. The bacon "basted" them.

ALWAYS MOIST, juicy, and flavorful !!!!

merely a suggestion,

I'm not a huge fan of the fish. Has to be a mild tasting fish.
But the "genes" thing is kinda interesting.
