A family friend offered one of his American Buff geese, if I am interested. I haven't said yes or no yet, I'm wondering about the effect on the dynamics of the flock and if geese can eat the duck food I already put out. Also feel free to add any other tips or requirements you think I might need to know. So far I’ve learned that Buff geese fly “like goats with wings,” are incredibly curious, don’t swim as often as ducks, and will hardly eat any feed as long as there is grass of sufficient quality available. I will likely also ask in the geese forums, but I wanted your perspectives.

Reasons why you shouldn't keep just one goose.

My geese and ducks get along pretty well. I wouldn’t say they’re friends, but they don’t fight either. I personally think three is the best minimum number of geese. My first three are a tight knit group, the other four seem like they hang out together just because, the first three are buddies.
