Sands Poultry in NC is where I got the eggs for my precious LF Cochins last summer, off Ebay. They sell several different breeds and species and the eggs were super well packed! Just had to throw that in

I got my eggs this morning. Excellent packaging. Package arrived in pristine condition so I guess even the post office cooperated this time. I will tell all who I got the eggs from cause I feel credit should go where credit is due. It was a member here and her handle is Ray_n_Debi. She has a buy it now auction going on. Plus I got extra eggs. What an awesome seller.

I'm sorry, I'm really missing something. I got that she sold eggs and the person she sold them to lied about viability. I don't see who the person is that she sold to? I thought she just replaced the eggs and found they had lied. PM me please if I'm just lost!

Lol. The person she sold to said they were bad, she sent them more, then she saw them on BYC talking in a thread about how both batches were doing great. So whoever bought the eggs from her was lying to get more.

That is what I was thinking! Thanks, you had me worried I was going nuts. Can't wait to hatch some of my own though.....does anyone order eggs from hatcheries? In looking at prices they seem really high??

No, I wouldn't order eggs from hatcheries either. Maybe that's why they seem high. They don't really want you to order eggs either. Learning a lot here.....

These are how my eggs are packed (scroll to the bottom). I've never had one broken...people have even dropped the individual wrapped eggs and my hatch rates are very good for shipped Serama eggs. The most important part is to make sure the eggs do not move around in the box. This greatly reduces the scrambled effect and loose air sacs.

I had such wonderful luck getting eggs this week!!! I got both shipment from ppl here on byc and both shipments arrived in wonderful condition and packed extremely well! Mary robbins sent me 25 eggs and all made it safe and only one had a loose air cell!! thats SUPER! then I got 16 partridge eggs from sebrightmom and every single one made it in excellent condition with ALL air cells in tact! this is a new personal record for me!!!! I never have such god luck. I wold reccommend these two to anyone. Just wanted to post something POSITIVE on the subject...hatching eggs can be so much fun..now if I dont kill them with my incubateing skills and as long as they post office didnt x ray I should have good luck.

We added two precious adorable buff chicks to that list this morning! So cute! This is how I look at it, if I hatch any I divide that cost by what I paid and compare it to what it would have cost me to buy chicks from that same breeder and have them shipped. It's a heck of a lot cheaper to hatch even a few from a dozen eggs than to buy each one and ship them from the breeder. Not to mention not near as much fun! For me the only legitimate complaint would be delayed shipping or poor packaging. I'm happy to say that I've not had either happen to me.
