Welcome to BYC. Apply an antibiotic ointment to the eye.

There could be dirt or bedding in the eye or a peck to the eye has made it sore. Open it and look, and use the antibiotic ointment twice a day. Terramycin eye ointment is good, and if not available I would use plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment.

Try applying an antibiotic ointment to the eye. There are also specific ointments, sprays for eye issues. Terramycin eye ointment is something you might look into.
