Oh Big Blue is beautiful! He has some lovely color on his chest. I have two that are mostly black. I see he has the little gold spikes along each side of his comb too. Makes me think of a surfer dude! Wait until his tail fills in. My big roo is 3 weeks ahead and he has a great tail! the younger ones just have that little upright spike - very jaunty

Wow! Jet looks so much better. It's amazing what they will recover from.

it was i froze alittle longer to look at it and play with goats. My banny roo will crow whenever he is the leader then the others will start. my biggest roo i have to hand feed cause he's at the bottom he doesn't crow. coop is maybe 50 ft from bedroom window yup good planing there.

after last yr my neighbor and i have decided it would be easier to butcher ourselfs a few a week . I have no issue with the cleaning, plucking sucks and smells, its the killing blow i have issue with. a few i just plucked legs and cut them and did skinless breasts so no insides had to be messed with.

blu is a poser.

It was Cedar Rapids, and yes, I got one. County Line Hatchery was invited to set up to be a vendor there. Not sure why we weren't listed on the email though.

I did decide if I had to sacrifice a chicken for testing to figure out this virus/bacterial infection it would be the baby EE roo. He is soooo super nice, but I don't have room for him and it is best not to get too attached to him

Trish the birds on your website are beautiful. I have barred rocks i'm trying to get to look more like yours now i know where to get fresh blood. Now you and Liz need a goatsite or a page on the chicken site.

hmmm going to try harder for a road trip.

Thank you Sam!

Funny you should say that about the goat site. I am going to make her one after I finish with the CountyLineHatchery site.

I loved all the pictures! Pretty chickens!

Thanks to everyone for their input on the whole butchering idea. Ugh - no fun. Trish, nope those Wellies went to Troy at the show in Iowa City. This is my last roo (thank goodness!) and he's the BLRW that I've been trying to pawn off on someone else.
