IA here

I was wondering if anybody on here has had pigeons before? I bought this pair at New Ulm this spring . The female laid an egg ,I left it an now today when I went out to do chores. The male was sitting on the (egg or eggs I didn't move him)

I have never had pigeons before but they are really neat.

Are they kinda tame? Will they sit in your hand?​

Hey Jason..the hen and the cock will both sit on the eggs. The hen will normally sit at night and the cock during the day.​

They are in with mille cochin pair will the chickens bother them ? They have the nest on the floor. They are not too tame yet,I wasn't quick enough to build aloft for them. I was surprised to see your name on here. Did you see the pics of the splash roos ? They came this week after I talked to you on the computer.

I would get them their own loft. I have had rollers nest on the ground in a cochin pen before and everytime the cochin rooster chases them off the nest and breaks the eggs. I would get a piece of ply wood and lean it at an angle over the nest to help hide the pigeon eggs. That worked for me one time.

The splash look nice. They ought to work well with your two hens.

Nope, not fooloing. They both usually travel with us and bring some homework.
