I let mine out just before sunrise today and they were doing the same thing.

It was 65 this morning. I woke up about 4:30, on the couch, must have been checking for holes in my eyelids, and remembered I'd forgotten to close the doors to the garage so I went out and one of the boys saw me and started crowing. Thats the first time in a month I've been able to close the doors. I have not been to worried about the crowing cause everyone has their a/c's running most of the time anyway.
All the girls spent a delightful time outside and I hope to see lots of eggs tomorrow.

HELLOOOOO (echo echo echo)

Page three are you serious!!!!! Where are all the chatty Cathy's ?

Glad the weather is still "normal" and will stay that way for the beginning of the fair. I lost my olive egger last night - I think the heat just caught up with her

So who all will be at the fair?

Count me in! Gonna clean pens tomorrow and the next day, poultry plunge on Thursday to get them all pretty and spa-ed. Hope to be at the fair noonish on Friday.
Took the following pics to warm you hearts even though it's been hot.
This broody bantam Orloff hatched these 2 little Vorwerks, one and two days ago. She may have a few more in a couple days. She is a good mamma so far. She brings the chicks out when I call to her! One of the chicks comes running to see if I have brought something to peck on.

Soooo cute! I have a mama Ia Blue with 4 chicks she hatched in the machine shed. It was quite an ordeal to get her rounded up and cooped with her babies. She is FIERCE!

That is so cute. I love a broody hen with chicks. There are so many broody hens around here, it would make your head spin.

I've got some nicely colored Iowa Blue's I'm raising up. Kari, the rooster I got from you is really helping.

She hatched another all yellow chick late afternoon and it seems to be doing well too. Maybe a couple more popping out soon. I don't want to over-chick her. Sometimes that works badly. The broody gets confused.
Everything is ready for the fair. Just gotta put shavings in pet taxis, and put in the clean birds then load them up and drive.....

Thats true, they like it here too! I even give them the cobs that we ate the corn from, the broody drug one over to her nest so she could gnaw on it (if chickens gnaw) while she was busy hatching and warming her chicks. It was funny watching the chicks dart out and grab a tiny piece of corn, then run back under mamma as she encouraged them to eat it.
They also get the wormy or buggy or squished ears. It's like a buffet for them when there's bugs!

ETA: It was 51 degrees here this am. You could feel the cool falling in the open windows.
