My wife is going to Maine for the week, oldest son with broken leg is going to grandmas for the weekend so youngest son and I will be coming down the day before Thanksgiving to kill some time cause no school and time to swim!

Bet I know who you are talking about. I have family flying in on Thursday and out Sat PM. Will try to put in my time on Friday and be there for part of the day on Saturday. I am pretty sure I will be wearing my bibs. I might have a sweatshirt on over them if it is too cold. If in doubt ask Phil or Rex if I am there.

Got pics tonight, will upload them tomorrow. One got out of jerrit's hold and we had to chase it around the egg room lol..bunch of old egg machinery in there and he was running under them, but we caught him 5 minutes later.

I seriously considered showing @ Iowa City, but just dont feel " ready " ; comes from years of horse-showing.
They need to be in near - perfect condition for me

I still might attend ... 50 / 50 chance.

Decided to start saving hatching eggs again so they can be @ Prime for next years showing.

Yes, I enjoyed our meeting as well! It would be good to see you in Iowa City, hope you are able to make it.
peeps are all doing well. Have lost some of the chicks due to the cold. I am trying to conserve on electricity by not using a heater yet. Am afraid they are bunching up to much to stay warm and smothering each other. they also have a bad habit of doing the opposite, not getting with the group in time to huddle in for the night.
Had a 4H meeting Sunday sort of a poultry 101 event. Encouraging the kids and parents to get their birds, except for the broiler pens, no later than January 31st, absolutely no later than that date. Our County fair is in July and the birds must be good reps of the adult birds by then. I highly encouraged them to purchase good fall hatch birds, those being the best according to old timers and my info.

My silkies are all maturing and I have (at least) 4 paint roosters in my small flock and someone's got to go. I'm selling this paint rooster, who is close to a year old. I can meet in Iowa City or Coralville Thanksgiving weekend if someone will be in the area for the poultry show. Should throw off some great chicks if put in with a group of nice black silkie hens. Talked with Phil this morning and he told me that there are about 1600 entries for the EIPA show Thanksgiving weekend. About 300 of those entries are for the Junior show. Hope to see you there Saturday.
