IA here

The car LIVES! It was the starter. After we replaced it - it started right up. Took the old starter up and had them test it. It was definately bad.

Now I am awake at a ridiculous time of day because after working on the car I came in frozen and snuggled down in the bed to get warm - ZZZZZZ. The dogs didn't get let out then (god forbid anyone else does it) and so they woke me up at 3 am desperate to get outside. Now I can't sleep

Trish - how is Liz? I hope she is not sick with something serious! Well it has to be somewhat serious if she has been in the hospital.

I should come up before the 27th to see the goats etc. and get some hatching eggs from you

Trish; Just getting dug out must be awful waiting, can't imagine that. What if you were gonna have a baby!

Glad to hear your car is fixalated Steph. Now your kids can have another shouting match at Hy Vee! LOL

That's awesome that your hubby can fixilate your vehicles. That must save you a bundle!!!

Liz is better. She had a spot on her tonsils and couldn't swallow. They put her in the hospital to get her rehydrated and she was let out of the hospital the next day. She's a tough cookie, that's for sure!!! She can talk better now.

This is the longest we've ever had to wait in the 9 years we've lived here. And Liz can deliver babies! She delivered her cousin's baby last year when the midwife couldn't get to her home soon enough to deliver it. Heck, she delivers goat babies on a daily basis here!

Flashpoint Farms, see you have NPIP.
Maybe you can help me, I would like to get NPIP certified. How does a small flock operation get started to set up testing?
hmm.png
ie: who to contact?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

The hardest part about becoming NPIP certified is finding someone that will come out and test your flock. Iowa Poultry Association can help you. Here's a link. http://www.iowapoultry.com/npip_information_and_requirements.php

A
lot of people I know take the class themselves to test their own flocks. You would take the class every 5 years to stay certified. It's a one day class, held in Ames. I think they have one in the Spring and Fall. Eric-MrandMrsChicken, is a certified tester.

We still only have a path wide enough to get one car through and I think my neighbor did that with his tractor and blower. It usually takes Benton County about 4 days to get to us, so hopefully we'll see him today.

Florida is looking better and better. Wish I could find a chicken sitter so I could fly south with Eric
