Hmmm Maybe what I thought were blue mottled are actually columbian...

How about I take a picture of my chicks and you guys can tell me what colors you think they are. They may very well be mixed. Definately pet quality though - their leg feathering isn't very good.

Just got a voice from the past........ Lisa Lisk, called me and wants me to return her call! She is alive!

Lisa is in good health and doing well.

She is being forced to sell the majority of her birds and will be doing so at an auction on May 15th at the Clark County Fairgrounds, Hwy 34 one mile West of Osceola:
JJSW Small Animal Auction. She will have around 100 chicks for auction along with other adult birds.

She called me cause she had my number and to ask if I wanted Chubby Bubby back. She has hatched a lot of Chubby Bubby chicks too that look just like her.

I cannot take her at this time but would like to.

Lisa's computer died and only recently had it replaced, and has been unable to log back into BYC but hopes to have it resolved soon. i do not know if the auction has a website but if they do perhaps they will have a more complete listing of what will be sold.

if anyone wants to reserve something, I am sure Lisa would be happy to do so, PM me and I will email her if she emails me, or I can call here as well.

That's ok steph I don't have a shortage of chicks. Thelittle silky that I hatched died today I was disappointed it was odd colored wanted to see what it turned out to be oh well. I have a full sized silky too. The chick is the size of all the others has black skin 5 toes and feathery feet. Hopefully that 1 lives. I'm getting excited/nervous the closer my sand hill order is to getting here. See what I get compared to what I ordered.

Ahhhh Eric - It's Chubby Bubby and there is Tank behind her! She's soooo stinkin' cute! I was going to go to the Osceola auction but if she is going to have that many birds there then I might hold off.

I think we may have a Brooster Jr. It's one of the younger buttercups but already has a bigger comb than the older ones and it's splayed out/flat like Broosters.

Looks like we have quite a bit of males though, and I have to see when and how many the one person wants and if they would want more males for showing only or something or maybe just see if anyone wants male show birds of them if we have too many.

Of the two roosters we have, one looks just like Brooster, (I call him Brooster Jr. too) and the slightly older one I call Moose, he is growing a large comb and it kind of looks like Moose antlers! I found Jr. sitting on the garage floor last night. I'd gone in to turn the light off and here are 3 chickens walking around! Jr. was kinda scared so I could reach down and pick him up. The other 2 were being uncooperative so I had to turn off the light to pick them up. I had fully closed one of the pens. At least they did not go outside or under the deck and get left out.

Steph; she said Chubby lokks just the same... Are you sure you don't want to take her back home? She said she still has some "Black Copper Morons" that will sell too or, that they are the fathers of some of Chubbys chicks.

Hello. I haven't been on here in quite a while but getting new chicks got me back in "chicken-fever". I got 4 Rhode Island Reds at Bomgaars a couple weeks ago, and on May 24 I go pick up 4 Buff Orpington's and 4 Silver-Laced Wyandotte's. I'm really hoping that I'll have a rooster in the bunch as I do not yet have a rooster. I would really love to have one of the SLW be male. So, that will double my flock.

One of my Black Stars (brown-egg layers I also got my Bomgaars) went broody on me, which is unusual I guess. Since I don't have a rooster, I don't have any eggs for her to hatch. But on Sunday, a friend of mine is bringing me a clutch of fertilized turkey eggs for her to be surrogate for. Once she hatches those then the turkeys will go back with my friend. It'll be fun for my boys and me to watch the process of eggs being incubated and hatched by a mama.
