Eric - I sent Lora a message and added her to the photo album. I made it private because I didn't want anyone to think these were my birds.
I didn't pay attention to how they were judged since they all belonged to the same person. But there wasn't any comments on the cards - so no DQ's anyway. I agree they were healthy looking and alert. Very relaxed for what could be a stressful situation.

I did not think of a comparison pic of my little guy Delaware, just on the other side of the wall and the LF. He is about 1/4 the size of those guys! They could eat him for lunch!

are any of you on here going to the eastern iowa show in november? i live in northwest iowa and im planning on bringing a few of my birds as long as the weather and my job cooperate. it would be my first show actually bring birds too. it would be nice meeting some of you. is there any other shows in iowa other than this show and the state fair?

Yes, there are quite a few of us that attend the EIPA show. It's really fun. I know myself, MrandMrschicken, and BlackCochinBantams will be there for sure. There will be others there too, if now showing, just to see the birds and socialize. Looking forward to meeting you! You'll have fun and make new friends.

I just started narrowing my show prospects down a couple of days ago. I have mostly breeders right now, as I sold most of my show birds to 4Hers. One of them made RV English at the State Fair. The new owner is going to show him at the EIPA show also. So if I have any to show, there will be few. But I will go help with set up, tear down at least.

I need to change the ringer on my cell phone this year before the show. The ringer is a chicken song, and I didn't hear it at all because of being around so many chickens. Ha!

I need a some help on finding a good judge for our Sac County Fair next year,we usually run around 200 birds or so between 4-H and open class,usually about 100 in each.mostly chickens and about 30 call ducks in open classs and maybe 12 or so other ducks and geese all together.The fair board pays the judge for milage and a fee for however much they charge for judging,the fair board pays that same day after they are done.i think they may even pay for motel fee if needed.we usually have the same judge for 2 years then switch,so next year we will need a new judge.would like a judge that will work with the kids and let them know what to look for in a good bird.may also need a person to do the testing when the birds are checked into the building.Please let me know if you have some ideas for the judge or tester.the fair is usually the last week of July with the judging on about thursday morning at 8am,it seems like it usually takes around 3 hours or so depending on how fast the judge goes threw the birds.We have one of the largest county fairs in the area.The main thing i would like is to make it fun for all the kids! I will be at the Eastern Iowa show just doing a lookie loo. I don't have anything to show - unless they show muscovy? I think Romeo is pretty handsome but don't know how he stands up to the standard.

im not sure what i would be bringing for sure yet. but i also need to get a few more conditioning pens built asap so i will have more birds ready by than. i went to the plymouth county fair in northwest ia. there was right around 330 birds that were shown. larry denny was one judge but i cant remember the name of the other judge. i could look it up if needed
