Ghosty
Crowing
I called the guy incubating my game fowl eggs. 4 have hatched this morning and more have pipped. Yay! I'll probably pick them up Saturday evening and post some pics.

View attachment 1532068Sorry i know this is not incubator ducklings, but they are newly hatched and cute so I hope no one minds...
Yesterday one of my resident wild ducks hatched out 14 cuties...14 for 14. And I got this photo.
Pretty sure mummy duck is one of the ducklings that some of my wild ducks hatched, then waddled up to my place with last spring. This year I knew they would do the same, they know a muggin who will feed and house all their ducklings when they see one! So I decided if I could convince any of the mallards to nest at my place they could pitch in by taking a few domestic eggs under their warm selves, well as their own!
Mallards are usually awesome mums, and so far going by her hatch rate, shes living up to that.
I moved Mum and the bubs' into a run with a light for heat this afternoon, as with 14 little ones, half of who are domestic and are going to get big fast, she wont be fitting them under her wings for long!
I think at least one of the ducklings is from a magpie duck egg. She had some larger pale green eggs I thought were from Heidi, a surprise mallard domestic hybrid who hatched last year, but at least one must have been from Prudence the one magpie I have (who also lays green eggs).
i have been trying to get a cute splotchy colored duckling from one of Pru's eggs, but so far all hatched have taken after their fathers appearance wise. So it was nice to see this one today.
The possible magpie x is the one in the rear with the yellow head.
The incubator temp in mine spiked when my air conditioner was out of commission, and fluctuated quite a bit until the AC was fixed. I don't know how long the temp was too high (101.9F) or how often it spiked while I was at work. That was during days 4 through 8. I did lose a couple, but not all.Hey guys, my temperature spiked to 102 degrees! I think it maintained that heat for around 2 or 3 hours or so...... should I be worried?! I felt the eggs and they were very hot for being 102.![]()

I hope yours pull through! Especially since it was a short period of time.
None this morning. I am at work for another hour or so, but will most definitely be checking as soon as I get home. Officially Day 20 starts** at 7:00pm tonight, so they aren't late, by any means.Any cheeping or rocking yet?
Yes, this is the batch that had the temp spike. My incubator has a fan. There is hope for yours, too!Is that the one from the temperature spike? If so, brings me hope! Wait, did you still air incubate or with a fan?
