IA (incubators anonymous) September Hatches?

Hi Gypsi Excellent!!! That was a good catch on your part to save that egg! Congratulations are in order for you, too!!! Congratulations! :clap
Thank you. I'm hoping the other 7 do ok too. My black australorp was sitting infertile eggs a couple of days before I got her some fertile ones, by her math they should have hatched Friday, well the fertile eggs got added 9/2, 9/3 and 9/4. so she shifted to freshly laid eggs yesterday and it didn't get hot yesterday, but not cold either, I found the cool eggs about 4 pm.... Incubator built for just this reason

The difference this time is that I got one last problem solved, I had so many to start with. First I started with a still air incubator, I also removed them one chick at a time, so the few that actually pipped all but one was shrinkwrapped. My humidity was also too high for the entire hatch. After a few hatches I got a fan and had a decent hatch relative to previous hatches. But I had the temps slightly higher than I needed because slightly higher had better results when it was still air. This time I stayed between 99 and 100 the whole way, Kept the humidity at the correct levels, and was patient when the first few hatched. Instead of moving the first 5 out as I went to bed, I ignored them and moved 17 out in the morning. Still 4 more to go but I might have shrink wrapped them. I couldn't even see I still had 4 more because the Incubator was so flooded with chicks and broken shells that it was complete chaos in there as it should have been. This hatch had Red Pyle Old English Game Bantams (pet quality I never have show quality unless by dumb luck) Ayam Cemanis that I got from Shady Grove Farms through Ebay, And a cross between Ayam Cemanis (I only have males) and Red Rangers to see if I can make some sort of a Black Meat Bird. The Hybrids aren't bigger than the other Cemanis at this point. They better get bigger because so far they all look the same! I forgot to band them when I took them out. I just did a head count, 5 are Cemani Meat Hybrids, 4 are Ayam Cemanis, and 8 are Red Pyle Old English Game Bantams. The Incubator has 4 eggs in there still, with 2 OEGB and 2 Ayam Cemanis and one of the Cemanis has pipped but might be shrink wrapped so I will likley have to zipper its pipping if it doesn't zipper today however the chicken has to break out on its own or it will likely die. Not sure why its like that but i learned a lot about Shrink Wrapped chicks from my previous hatch mistakes. I have never had 50% or better until now. Being Stubborn I often take longer to get things right but I always do.
