Congrats on some of the recent hatches!

My Mottled Japanese bantam chicks are doing absolutely fantastic. Super tame to bot even though I'm sure I have two cockerels.

I have 8 eggs left cooking. We'll see how that goes.

Hello, all. Haven't had much time to sit down! Got my fence posts in and got some of the lumber cut. Came inside to cool off and clean up. I have my yearly exam this afternoon, so I am chilling, don't want my BP higher than usual, doc will want to prescribe something, lol.
Glad to hear of the successful hatches, yay!
I did a quicky candling on the 12 I have going (day 3.5).
Veins in 6 of 7 Blue Star eggs.
Veins in all 3 Light Brahma eggs.
Nothing certain in the 2 EE eggs.
Summary: Nine of 12 progressing, 3 too early to count out yet.

I can't wait to get them outside! And I am sure they will be sooo much happier! I cut the lumber to construct a temporary small coop, for now. The panels will eventually be used for the runs. I have prepped the site where the permanent coop will be. The weather continues in the 90s every day this week, with high humidity. I can only work in this heat for small amounts of time, ugh!

They're oddly kind of cute...like a Daschund or Schnauzer. Are they as intent on fighting as the large fowl versions? I'm picturing a bantam Shamo on a tie cord.
