Iam getting peacocks now..whoot whooot /netting and raising the net

Hey all my favorite peeps,
Feels like I havent been in the chicken section as much lately.. been missing you all

I've been researching peafowl

My question.. with my pen that I have/ and yes, I am going to have them share.. cause I am not building another coop right now.. no way.. no how..

anyhoo.. you think I can just stick some post in the ground.. that are like 10 feet tall.. sink them in ... and just set a couple in the left side of the pen in the middle.. to raise the netting..so its more like a teepee/ on one side of the pen.. this way, the peafowl will have a higher height

anyone on here have that in their pens.. a teepee kinda look/ does it raise the height good???? I just want really a section that will higher for the peafowl.

Its going to be a couple of years before they have those really long trains, but I hear they like roost at least 6 feet high.. so I wanted to raise my pen higher/ without redoing it..etc

Hope everything is ok. I have seen here on BYC with a huge pond and the netting raised up high like what you've said but can't seem to find it now. I know I saved it. Oh well, when I do find it, I will post it. Hope you'll find what you're looking for,,,soon. Take care hon.

So I have a section that is really tall..and the peafowl could then have at least a 5 foot area ht to perch on..as it stands now everything in my run is just 6 foot ht..I want a 9 foot height area somewhere even if it's just 10x5 section raised to 9 foot ht

And place their perching area under that

I can't redo my whole run, or even build a new one..lmao..not happening so I thought really I just need a raised area somewhere in the run? And then thought..teepee it somewhere that should suffice

You can do this, it is best if you place disks (circular wood) on top of the posts to help support the netting. It helps prevent it from tearing.

its the other way around... .. but blackhead disease isnt in my area.. so the breeder as well as many many many many others that do have chickens.. yes house them all together!!!!
