Im thinking that Jesus must have stepped in there and breathed the breath of life into their little lungs, becuase there is no way that these guys should have survived all of the mistakes we have made.

10:30 Update:....

The pip has not progressed yet. Mom is asleep, and I am fighting my eyelids. They think I need sleep and I disagree, LOL. I am entertaining myself with I Love Lucy shows and have promised myself to only look into the hatcher once every hour... so far... I am completely untrustworthy LOL. Udate at midnight!!

3 am and a second one has pipped and started to zip and is peeping very vigorously.... but my gosh is it going slow!!! How long does it normally take once they start zipping? It has been almost two hours and it has only done about 1/8 inch. Does that mean it is having trouble? And the first one that pipped has made NO progress at all??? Geesh, I am impatient. I go from thinking they are all dead to demanding they come out NOW!!!!!

Suz, I almost lost one that had pipped and made no progress. Watch that the membrane does not turn completely white, if so it has dried out. Go to the main index on incubating & hatching and there is a sticky at the top to tell you when and only when you should intervene. I had to do that to one chick (someone on this board named Indy and the name stuck)and it is very healthy now. I freaked out because when I would see a pip I waited for hours with nothing happening. It takes 12 hours or more before they are ready to zip. Takes about 15-30 min. to zip out. At least, that is how it happened for me the past two days. Keep us posted.
