Icelandic Chickens

So blacks are unusual? Better go and take a pic of my all-black pullet then. Funny, I'm not crazy about the blacks although hubby likes them best (he bred out all the colours from our bucks, going to black).

Those are two seriously cute babies you got there Mary.

I saw an edd couple of days ago for two rheas, boy was I tempted. Didn't want hubby arrested for murder though

Hmmm, have to check hubby's temperature on more roos. I got the tractor stuck in the pasture and he was working late on a project and wasn't too happy about getting it stuck and him having to go out and unstick it late at night; and then falling in the bog and it was windy and raining and cold.

Better think up something to put me in his good graces again!

They do sound really nice - I rather like light birds, well, actually I really like all colours (hence my screen name!). Maybe not black so much. They look sinister to me.

Hi Totalcolo

you best cook him something nice, I'd suggest others, but, they're all reading,

anyhow, I have yet to see a pic, or a live black adult Icelandic rooster, that doesnt have other colors on him, likely a gold cape, or silver but if they are hatched black figure they are going to eventually have more color on them, cape, and probably back and tail.

Thanks everybody. The shell membranes are on their way to the lab for DNA testing. My emu egg is on Day 47. It could hatch as early as Sunday or Monday.

... when I told my wife I'd be putting more eggs in the bator next week, you should have seen the eye roll....
