Welcome, I am just starting in Icelandics also, I would love to hear about your hair sheep!

Thank you. My avatar is hair sheep. I raise Dorper, Katahdin, Painted Desert, and Barbadol / Mouflon crosses. I have some purbreds of the first 2 breeds but mostly crosses from them. I breed every year to a Dorper Ram. These are a meat breed sheep. No wool so no shearing. I had 44 lambs just born in Feb. I bred only 21 ewes this time and got 44 lambs. I used to have around 100 adults but we recently downsized as we were getting to many for the two of us to take care of with everything else we have to do. Lots of fun to have around. In my profile there are pictures of some of my new lambs.

Welcome aboard RBahmer !

I like all of the Icelandic Critters too, sheep, dogs, and horses !

Get well Kathy !!!

Thank you Jake. I LOVE the Icelandic animals. I was lucky enough last fall to get a few Icelandic sheep. Very expensive but well worth it. I will be getting with you soon in the near future to see about a rooster. I have 14 pullets and no rooster for them except their father and I won't do that.

I have gotten a Maremma, a livestock guardian dog, to guard my chickens and turkeys and I am getting another in 2 weeks. The birds free range 3 acres and I've thought a few times about getting some sheep to cut down on how much I have to mow.

When I went out tonight, I found that my swing roost seems to be getting some attention.

It's not the best picture, I didn't have my camera so I had to use DH's phone.
