Mary, If the supplier calls fedex they can usually change the method of shipping.

Not to be a total SOB or anything, but as someone who works in the company (albeit on the printing side) FedEx does not generally sit things on the dock for a week so you get the service you pay for. California may be different in terms of delivery loads and such, but here in colorado if you are in the state of colorado and are shipping ground to elsewhere in the state of colorado (not including weather issues or the delivery address being 200 miles out in the wilderness) it will get to where its going within one business day. And that's for the Ground price. We tend to take pride in that. Ground is guarenteed to be to it's destination in 3-5 business days, but generally if its in state it's one business day. Did you talk to the 1-800-GOFEDEX line and ask about possible delivery time on this package? Also, did the people doing the shipping provide you with a tracking number? (and am I the only one who noticed that I suddenly sound like a customer service rep? sheesh!) Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this wonderful thread, but I have a job I actually take some pride in

and I'd like to help in any way I can

(and actually, it'd be probably like farther away than colorado, stuff we send to cali is usually slated for three business days)

really like the look of the icelandics btw, and that barn is something else. I though tI was cool building a coop with a brooder built in by myself, but that looks way better!

Trust me, it sits in Sacramento if you pay for ground. I bought stereo speakers for my grandkids for Christmas. They were coming from Davis which is about 45 miles from here. They sent them ground and they SAT in Sacramento for five days before they were put on the truck for delivery. And, you don't sound like an SOB. Why don't you ask for a transfer to Sacramento and straighten these people out? And you'll be close enough to pick up Icelandic hatching eggs!
