Icelandic Chickens

Mary, Love all the different Colors... Excited to see the grow. :)
Did Buddy recieve his Patches? Would love to get a picture with them on his gear..If you get any picture, tag them to GoBigMx on facebook :)
Some pictures of Lukka and her babies who moved into the big coop today. This one captured all eight babies.

This one cracks me up!

I am only keeping three of the Icelandics I hatched. The three white boys are going to farmer Fred. Isi is white so I don't need another. This is the one I hope turns into a good roo. He is going to be gorgeous.

Another pic of my boy.

Lukka free ranging with her brood. She is definitely in her element!

I think this one is a pullet and it might be colored like Miss Polaris. Nice crest too!

I second that!

Judges4, what an ordeal! I'm so sorry you've had to go through all that but at the same time I really admire your dedication to the English Orps.

I'll make extra sure your Icie eggs are well taken care of so you get a good hatch experience with lots of happy and healthy non-scrambled fuzzballs of cuteness for you to enjoy. I actually set some eggs in my incubator last weekend because I had just parted with my Húsatóftir eggs at the hatcher, and I felt I was missing out on all the hatching excitement. Because I had just gotten back from Iceland all I had was a handful of fresh eggs and a dozen of 5-12 day "old and cold" eggs that were sitting in the kitchen fridge. The last time I tried to hatch eggs I only got 1 out of 8 so I really wasn't expecting much, but today all but 1 egg are veining. All the fresh eggs are developing nicely, plus 11 out of the 12 that were in the fridge! The one egg that is clear was the one in the back of the fridge and had practically been frozen. Since all those eggs are from the same 2 hens it seems like we've got 100% fertility at the moment, or at least close to it.
