Has anyone had experience in shipping young pairs or trios?

Mine were sent by Express Mail in a USPS approved shipping box that has a mesh that covers the air holes. The cost is relatively high but the delivery time is guaranteed. I had never received anything but one-day-old chicks by mail before and was very happy with the service the USPS provided. Although, Mary and I both were nervous wrecks until they arrived safe and sound!

Ditto! And some financial info...the boxes usually run about 20$ and then shipping averages 40-60$ depending on where they are going. I have done VA to GA for $40ish and VA to CA for $65ish.

As of this evening I only have one hatched, a cute little yellow and silverish guy. He has a incubator mate pipped that I can see. I am hoping for many more tomorrow when I go down to the barn. I think I am going to brood them in the baby brooder in the house for the first couple of days to make sure everyone is eating, drinking, pooping, and walking correctly. We have had the most gorgeous 70 degree weather the last two days. My mini donkey has spring fever really bad. Diana has been a pistol for two days now, bucking, kicking, biting and riding Jack. I think she forgets that he weighs 650 pounds and she only weighs 300! He just takes it all in stride, sweet kind soul that he is!
