Oh, and I candled Gula's eggs...and have the bruises to prove it. Only one of the two Icelandic eggs was fertile. I chose the largest egg and next to largest from the day I gave eggs to her. I believe the largest egg is Anna's. She is one of my original 6 year olds. I chose the egg for that reason but I don't think she will let Jökull near her and Audun has never liked Anna much. I was hoping to get a chick that I knew was hers...no such luck. The other egg is looking good. It will be the only one Jóka gets to keep. My friend's eggs look good. We'll see what we get on Thursday/Friday.

My chicks failed to make it to me today. So much for guaranteed delivery, I somehow feel Fedex or UPS would have been able to handle it. We will have to see what tomorrow brings.

Oh dear, I hope they make it early tomorrow. I don't believe UPS or FEDEX can/will deliver chicks.

Anything on the rocker?

There are now two new Icelandic chicks in the world. Just like human babies, the middle of the night seems to be the choice time! They were both doing fine when I left for work this morning. I may need some help with a good Icelandic name for one of them. One looks like she/he has a mask across the eyes so it's Bandit for that one (I know, not very Nordic but I couldn't resist!)

Does anyone here use a pedigree program to keep track of their lines? If so, which one do you use?
