Icelandic Chickens

So.... Rob pointed out to me that I was being an insensitive turd when it came to the calendar contest. I really didn't think my picture would get chosen, as I had repeatedly (and blatantly) broke the rules of the contest. I asked him to remove the picture from the contest, so that people who aren't complete butt-heads could participate.

I apoligize if I hurt anyone's feelings by being unthinkingly dumb. It was not my intention to cheat, as I figured I would be disqualified. Good luck to all the entrants!

They're crazy. Really, they are crazy, I tell ya. These silly chicks are so happy to be out of confinement .... they LOVE the layers coop. They go in there and run and jump and play. Silly kids. One black girl actually sat on a nest. This is a nest on the floor, intended for the Silkies. Another girl was checking out all the other nests, too. Don't they know...... they are still babies! They can't be thinking about sitting on nests yet!

This morning I was at my desk working on my blog. I tried to do something fancy and ended up messing the whole thing up, couldn't log back in and had technical support for four hours. Finally got it back the way it was, minus the something fancy! In the middle of that mess I felt something skitter across my feet! A rat or mouse? No, an Isbar baby who escaped the brooder. So, they are now in a ghetto garage brooder until old enough to go into a grow out coop. I am particularly proud of the roost made out of a broken rake.

I fixed it! Squarespace took automatic spellcheck away a couple of weeks ago. Now to do it you have to run a check on the entire post and it's a pain in the butt with HughesNet. I thought the bigger error was the salad picture in the middle of the Diana post! That probably happened while I was screwing up the entire site! Maybe when the little Isbar turd ran across my foot. Kelly may have to moderate this.

No way, I am going to check! Yep, I forgot to designate a new excerpt so it defaulted to the old one even though it is corrected in the full post. Jeeze, does everything have to be so difficult?
