Greetings from Chilly Oklahoma today folks!!! i am down but not out! My back has caused me to rethink my life, but I still enjoy my chickens, thanks to my wonderful wife and kids that help do chores! Anyways, it has been a while since I last posted here, as for my Icelandics, AI am down to One nice Silver Blue cock and one nice Black red headed hen that I have together to try and raise some chicks from this year! i have not had much luck with mine thus far, it seems when I do get chicks on the ground the varmints and weather need them more than me, so we shall try try again! I am getting the incubator set up soon and will try to get some eggs from someone to set and hope to get some PULLETS! LOL!!! We got some much needed rain, snow and sleet in Okla. in the last few days and we are thankful for the moisture but I am so ready for Spring!!! Have a great day all! Lynn in Okla.

Glad to see you are keeping the Icelandic dream alive!!!! Stay warm!!!

It's chilly here today... it'll only get up to 62!!!... two days after the biggest snow storm I've ever seen in AZ!

Where are you in OK? I´m in Tulsa and I´m Icelandic and wanting some chickens. Would love to help keep the Icelandic bird alive! Wanting 3-6 pullets. I´m in the city so a roo is out of the question sadly. Otherwise I would breed them.

We've gotten a good, heavy winter here this season. Lots of snow and low temps. It was like that when I was little

A month ago, we were actually dropping down into negative temps at night. All my birds got moved into the garage for a couple of nights, since it was so cold that the heat lamp out in the coop broke. It's snowing again today, though it's been fairly light. The last couple of storms that have rolled through dumped a foot or more on us - at least two feet out where my BF is, and that was one storm! I'll see if I can get some pics on here of some of the snow we've gotten, if no one minds. I like seeing what everybody gets

And, we have very dry air here. I get lizard hands even after putting on copious amounts of lotion.

3 weeks should be long enough.......................go for it
