Icelandic Chickens

Here are some of my young Icelandics. It really surprises me how big some of the combs and wattles are on some of the pullets.

Hi Everyone!

I'm back from a quick trip down to KY to see my boys and have caught-up on the thread.
Congrats on the chicks Pnoenix Farms!
Mike, You might need to take a closer look at those "pullets".
Myrth, Good to see you here again.

I got some pics of Elska's brood this evening...
She was willing to pose despite looking a bit ragged while molting..

Eldur lost his long sickle feathers.....I've looked but can't find them around the coop or yard.....I've been trying to get them for two years now without any luck...

Hey, Kelly, my two Barnevelder chicks that hatched from the eggs I won in the Easter Hatchalong Fun Night contest just happened to get photographed with Gaela

Who here is the Icelandic sexing guru? And, at what age may I begin harrassing you to make attemps att sexing my chicks? Patience isn't one of my strong points. :/

Well, the tradition here has been to harass Kelly, though whether or not it's because she's a guru, I've never quite figured out.

Most of the time, ya just gotta wait until the 6 week mark, and then we can vote :)

Okay. Told you I am impatient. 2 weeks 2 days. This guy is pretty obvious, right? Or, could the genes vary so much he could turn out to be she? I think it is funny he is the only one my 3 year old has named so far. And, his name is Peg. :p
