It is very likely that the black spots are from pecks. He has a single comb, right? The damage isn't on the tips of the points is it?

It's scattered across the comb, single comb. It's more on one side than the other. A couple spots on the tips, but more on the one side.
There was also a little blood visable in the box we carried him home in during the long drive. I couldn't find any other possible source for the blood.

This is a cockerel from my flock, Summer 2015. He look similar, from what I can see, to your guy.

The gray is called blue. He would be closest to what the Dutch Bantam breeders call Blue Cream Light Brown, their Blue Light Brown has orange head and hackles. On the Blue Cream, the hackles and saddles are cream not orange. Since Icelandics don't have a standard, their colors are sometimes hard to describe. I try to use what breeds that do have a standard call their varieties...this can present it's own problems since not all of them use the same terminology for very similar color combinations.

That is one beautiful cockerel ! Reminds me of a couple of my guys, who are missed. Is he from Marys line?

The cockerel above, and pictured below, is a son of my Audun, who is a son from Mary O's original quad she got from Sigrid.
His mother is a hen I got from BYCer @KYTinpusher who hatched her from eggs from BYCer @coldupnorth whose flock came from David Grote, whose flock came from Lyle Behl (she got stock before David had all the lines he has now).
Lineage is great. I hope to hatch some full sisters and brothers to him this spring. He is not far from me with a small flock of his own Icelandic hens.

My incubator is dusted off and loading today.

I've got 12 eggs in my new incubator. They are a barnyard mix of my friends. The chicKS will go to a small farm petting zoo in our neighborhood.

I'm really hoping this goes well in preparation for my icelandic eggs.

My icelandic roo is still in isolation. I think the black spots in his comb are healing but I want to be sure.

I am setting 12 from my Icelandic flock and 7 from a friend that has an Icelandic flock started from mine....then there are 6 Welsummer from a friend and 12 shipped Mille Fleur d'uccle eggs (these are for a gift). They are being incubated by my neighbor who has a very nice Sportsman incubator. I am hoping to have broody hens by the time hatch day arrives.
