I was rereading this article, and it says none of the Icelandics are monochromatic (one color), however, I beg to differ with that. My Kola is pure black, and I have 2 pure black chicks, as well. Another kind of comb we have here is the "double comb," mentioned in that article.

She had some copper in her when she was younger, but it all molted out and she is solid black. She was black as a chick. I have 2 chicks that are a couple months old, and they are solid black with not even a hint of the coppering.

YAY ! ! ! Maybe I have the very first ever monochromatic Icelandic!

I will check her over real well tomorrow and get close up pictures of her wings and feathers. She came from the first eggs Mary ever sent out. She could be from Lukka or Henna, if I recall correctly. I believe Henna was still alive then.
