My kids refer to them as 'The Raptors'

He is going to be beautiful Mahonri!

It's why I picked him of the three. first, he was the largest!

the little Ici one was too small and he went to a good home on the outskirts of Casa GrandeJor

While I loved the little RoseComb Black one, Jordin (Earth), and while he was fiesty, he too was too small and I can visit him anytime because he is now being cared for just down the street.

When I feed them bread in the pen, Vindur is the first one to grab a piece and go. He is amazingly fast and he was the first one to use the roost up high. I think the wavy comb also makes him look dinochickenish!

Vindur does make me think of a dino/bird in transition !

He is either going to be scary or magnificent.

I suspect the later. Maybe instead of a Lion King a Chicken King.

I so want crests on my girls like The Warden has....my cockerels had great crests as juvies but their combs cover most of them now....the pullets are both smooth headed! Pics, pics, pics, please!!!

Lynn, I wrote the collection dates on the tops on the 11 Icelandic eggs I sent. I hope you got lots of different colors from them. I also sent you 5 Auburn Java eggs. I'm glad you hatched 4 of them. Could you please PM pics of the Javas to me? I'm curious to see their coloring.

Yep, sometimes they come in later. I was going to try to count mine tonight but it didn't happen. Just giving them a cursory glance as they chowed down on some scratch, revealed that all but a few are crested. One roo has a crazy crest with just a few feathers. I have to try and capture that with my camera when, and if, the weather improves.

Sweet!!! Then the mullets and crest did come from you, I will try to get pics soon, was way busy today, built five cages 4'x6'x5' tall today for my pairs and trios of Guineas and Cockoo Marans, they loved them, they have been in the barn, I move chicks in the barn from the horse tank brooder and chicks from the plastic tote brooder in the house to the horse tank brooder and then released the new hatch chicks from the temp cage brooder to the plastic tote brooder, ordered pizza, ate, took a long hot Epsum salts bath and now checkin in before I hit the bed to get up at 4am to go back to workagain!!! The little Javas are all black and some have a redish tint to the head area, will get some pics for you. Have a blessed day!!! Lynn
