Mary, I'm sorry to hear that your neighbor has no respect for your requests not to pet your donkeys and continues to let his dogs run loose. I second the suggestion to put electric wire near the ground on the outside of your perimeter fence and inside the top of it. The donkeys will not want to put their heads over the fence that way (though I doubt Diane can!). Michael may want to "keep the peace" with neighbors, and that is admirable, too bad your neighbors don't want the same thing.
Kim, Sorry to hear that you, too, have a neighbor that doesn't "get it" when it comes to keeping control of their animal. You can bet it'd be a different story if it was your animal causing a problem at their place.
Michelle, What a handy hubby you have! Mine is handy, but would never take on a "chicken project" without me there to insist!
Update on the Icelandic broody watch......I moved Anna into a separate coop last night with her golf ball clutch. We'll see this morning if she's on them or trying to get out, and back to the Ice House.
She hasn't layed an egg in three days now so I will be removing Asta's and her eggs from the incubator, placed in there this past weekend, and letting her hatch them. I was going to try and leave her in the Ice House but I caught one of the Muscovy girls trying to roust her from her nest on Sunday so thought I would move her, for her own safety. She is a third of the size of the scovy girl and those ducks can cause some damage with their bills. There are ten (10) nest boxes, two rows of five, why pick the one with the broody in it?! On the top row?! The other duck girl just uses one of the lower nests. Don't have a way right now to keep the ducks from entering the pop door that opens to the free range area. They may just have to have their own space........
