What better way to spend a Friday evening/night than bator watching?!

Ditto that!

Hoping Michelle in Alaska is doing well with her hatch, too!

Yes! Congrats Ryan!!

Michelle is finally off work and heading home. The kids say one more hatched today and there were more pips. I get to go assess the gimpy leg and then assist the 2 stuck ones. Should keep me away from the horde of teens invading my house, at least for a little while.

I've been doing some reading on chickens, and found this breed to be interesting, and might at sometime want to
add some too my flock. Does anyone here keep icelandics with other breeds of chickens and if so how do they get along ?
What temperment do Icelandic Rooster have and are they able to live with rooster of other breeds ?

I hope by this time next week, I'll have LOTS of little Icelandics popping out!

I am new to this Icelandic thing, but have the three juveniles in with my three Splash Marans juvies (incl. my cockerel) who are two weeks old and 20% bigger, but the little Icelandic roo is dominant after just a week together!

I did have to cull the chick with the gimpy leg

it never would have been able to walk

On the bright side I have 5 Icelandics in the brooder, 2 in the bator that were shrink wrapped that I helped... they are resting and i'm hopeful.
