Yes Daria, it was a fun time.... ok for all those who said if it isnt posted in a picture format....it didn't happen.....WELL it DID!
Finally pictures of me n my Iclandics, thanks so much Daria! I like the name of your hen, she is my favorite of all eggs ever hatched here and I am so happy that she will add her genes to your flock. I shuffled birds all around this evening, bringing all the babies to the carport hanging cages, and bringing the teenagers to the wire cage by the coop. Thats life with chickens. The bees are already flying to the hive entrance as if they have lived there forever.
I hope ya'll enjoyed your sandwiches, they are really healthy!

Thats a cool coop! and a nice looking rooster too!
Thanks, funny story, Daria met a lady in a store on Main Street who knows me and the thing she came away with was them uniting in a VOTE against my beard! Daria...THAT made my day
! Only in Fredericksburg would this happen to me!
The rooster looks evil and he can be really mean if you try to hold him. He has bitten my face, my hands even got a hold on my beard once and wouldn"t let go! But I still love em, God gave em that temperment so they could survive all the varmints!
Thank Daria for all the pics everyone!
Listen, I forgot to write down the name of that tree for Linda. Please tell her I am so sorry and the name of the tree is "Forest Mountain Pansy Redbud". I sure enjoyed yall's visit! It was very kind of you to allow Shane to show you around while i took care of customers. He is one of our Interns and a precious child, and he LOVES showing folks around. He also LOVES taking care of the chickens, even if he doesn't show it. All of our Interns are considered at risk in some way and we help them toward a goal of "healthy independence". John, the guy with the really long beard, is 41 and on his own for the first time in his life, and he loves using his mind so we have him working on the water feature and he is doing a beautiful job of it. You really got to see our place in action and be an important part of it all! Thank you again! I haven't tried the Mead yet. I'm a light weight and after your warning, I knew I would be unconscious if I hit that bottle. I will try a single shot first to test it out! Thanks so much for it though, the very fact that YOU actually made it makes it special!
I hope you get a good nights rest, glad you mad eit home safe and sound.
The coop actually is very easy to open and close and the sides have removable side panels, that are sealed by wire mesh from withing the coop, to allow for more ventilation in the very hot summers here, and more insulation in the very cold winters. We had a 9 degree night this past winter and we have already had a 101 degree day and summer is barely here! It really is perfect for my operation.
