My icelandics are so FAST and boy can they fly... they are just amazing. I imagine in another week they won't go into the brooder they'll be roosting on the grape vines.

My midget BR died. It was doing great then I found it just outside the door of the brooder stretched out and dead. Didn't feel light.. felt the same weight as the other small chicks.... everything looked good on it but it's gone. The NH looks to be a PULLET!! Wahoo. Of the other two Brs... I'm guessing roo and pullet and I'm thinking the SLW is a roo.. we'll see.. Oh and MOST of my chipmunk icelandics - ROOS.
Most of my blondes are staying blonde... half pullets/half roos.. I don't see a blue in the bunch and my blacks are staying black. one of the browns may have a few stray blue feathers coming in.

I noted that my broody that hatched out 9 of 10 eggs, 7 are roos for sure.

My other hen that's broody has 6 eggs under her still, due to hatch on Saturday. In the morning I'm putting water and feed in her box and isolating her from the rest of the other birds... as I'm taking the boyz camping tomorrow.

You're at the Kwickee Food Mart, an hour and a half from your home, and on the way back you realize a Tennessee Fainting Goat buckling has gotten into your car? I cannot tell you how mad this makes me.

Then you have no choice but to bring him home until you can call Animal Control and this happens? I guess we're gonna' have to keep him!

I personally have no problem selecting roos for the best roo qualities and ignoring their looks. I have given away some of the most gorgeous roos because they were not good to the girls. I am getting ready to do a roo removal soon and the ones that aren't nice are going to go no matter how pretty they are. I don't tolerate aggression towards the hens or towards humans.
