Icelandic Chickens

It's a Tennessee Fainting goat too Jake. Unfortunately, I already have him listed back on Craigslist. He is just too rough for my girls.

My 2 teenager boys are homeless. They don't have a pen and female company yet. They get to free range the entire property each day. They really are beautiful boys! I wish I had kept a few girls for them. Oh well, more will be hatching soon.

Love them Kathy! That first was is gonna be a heartbreaker!

I am getting ready to re-home a bunch of boys and restore order in Little Iceland. I know they are doing their job because I set 40 eggs, mostly pullet eggs, for Shawn on Tuesday. I candled today and I don't think I'll be tossing more than 3 or 4 or as clears! I also have not had any failures on the 32 I am hatching for Jake! I have more than 70 eggs in two Brinseas! They are stacked and I am hand turning. I am either going to have to buy a Little Giant

or borrow Kelly's incubator on Monday. My shipping boxes arrived yesterday but I am still waiting for the heat packs.

I shipped eggs to Laree today. 24 plus a few extras.

I am getting 10 to 12 Icelandic eggs everyday! I can't sell them as eating eggs because they are still too small. Whomever is laying the jumbo eggs must be ugly because those have all been clears!

I am still hoping my little buckling works out. He is a bit too aggressive but seems to be settling down. I am keeping the Craigslist listing active just in case.

Got any chocolate left?

BTW, I tried to register our ranch name with the state so I could use it legally and it was already taken. I picked a new name that I thinks suits us pretty well considering we have bucking donkeys and goats and emus running at freeway speed. I'll try to register this one and see what happens.

OMG, do NOT even mention chocolate.

I have made myself sick by eating so much of it. It is now safely tucked away, out of my sight.

Yeah, I like your new ranch name. That's a good one!

I really have to try to get a good picture of the blue and silver boy. Honestly, he is sooooooo beautiful. That silver is pure white and just looks so lovely on his blue. They both look like long legged skinny girls right now (remember "Twiggy?"). They are just now beginning to fill out a bit. These 2 bachelors are so funny. They hang out with each other and just roam all over the place. They come up to us when they see us come outside, looking for treats.

Holy Hatching Time Mary !!!

Its good that the chicken house has a floor now !! Its going to be full !

What a way to start a flock !!! Of course there will be a lot of roos to rehome, I will probably not keep more then 4 into the breeding season. I better double the size on the yard though ! So, Icelandics are coming to MI in strength !

The Contessa will have a full court to serve her.

Kathy that first Roo is my pick, whats not to love?

I am hoping to get a 4 H'r started this summer in Icelandics, this will sure make that easier.

You folks are major Blessings !

Mary I like the farm name , it just suits fine.

Jack reminds me of a couple donkeys I have known, personality guys for sure. I like them, great on making coyotes unwelcome.
Jake
